"Times Like These..."

I woke up hearing this song in my head (although Margaret had 90.1 KERA AND the 'Today Show' on). Feeling stressed... I suppose, my brain was searching for a melodic calming answer for this week's harsh events. At least I've learned from all this tax stuff why I didn't want to be a CPA. But anyway, you know how you get a song stuck in your head and you must actually hear it to like... exorcise it? So I go to iTunes and search for "Foo Fighters".. and I get back nothing. Wow! No Dave Grohl on iTunes?? I did find various songs by the same name. Apparently, people over the past hundred years have complained about life's circumstances, lost love, war, politics, negative moments and even dog poo. (but who knows, maybe the FF's was supposed to be a happy song).
Well I still can't find it.. so, let's just sing it instead...

"it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again"

Spiders Must Get Depressed to...

Margaret made some killer coffee* this morning! Harley was unusually hyper (spring and all). Curt and I chatted about the Tommy Morrison script. I read Curt's 4 page treatment and really liked it (however, I caught some spelling errors.. imagine ME finding spelling errors!?). Anyway, It will make for an entertaining and very compelling story of the 'Great White Hope'. Still working on the paperwork for tomorrow's IRS meeting. I'd much rather have a root canal ... oh well. Evidently, my stress and irritability has given rise to some 'bad karma'. Not only was Margaret and Harley a bit down yesterday, a brown spider seems to have succumbed to my negative energy. While going for my 2nd cup of coffee this AM, an eight legged freak made it's way toward my JavaCuisinart. Spiders are about 3rd on my list of 'Things DM Fears'. SO, I patiently waited while it crawled. Unfortunately, the creature jumped onto the outside of the pot and then I was shocked as it went up and over into the *black, hot liquid. ewwww... I guess spiders get incurably depressed as well.

OK, so now I'm off to create some good thoughts, great accomplishments and print some more tax documents... and as the Sterophonics would say... "Have a Nice Day". :-D

Well.... it's about damn time I started my own right? After reading Mark Cuban's blog -www.blogmaverick.com - I knew I was behind the webtastic-stylised technology curve. But I've been busy right? Maybe even more than Dallas' own raging billionaire? Ok, so, bear with me since this is DM Blog Version 1.0.

It was a terrific weekend, nothing special, just easy going and simple pleasures around the house with Margaret and Harley - I needed that before the coming storm of tasks. We took my mom out to the sprawling metropolis of Frisco and stopped in on Westin's new golf resort (very corporate looking but nice). I can't believe there's a whole nother world up there. Alas, they also have shitty drivers and rude people.. but Randy White's BBQ saved the day. :D

Today - more work, phone calls, emails and suffering with the IRS. (btw: I have a mtg with them wed., so wish me luck). It's way too beautiful outside to work, but I need to finish up the details for the soundtrack - Walking with Freedom - ASAP. The response has been overwhelming. I'm guessing over 78 musical artists have volunteered their songs for the documentary - and the music IS GOOD. There's way too much un-signed talent we never hear about. I suggest you poke around my new fave music site www.CDBABY.com and search for some new music to sample. Tell Derek I sent you. Also check out / download Apple's iTunes and pick a Euro radio station to listen to. Broaden your horizons, enlighten your mind and screw ClearChannel. I've also got paperwork and a press release to get out today... so this being my 1st blog will be short. Think of it as an appetizer.. or even a tapa. I need to save some time to bike today... as I mentioned.. it's just too nice outside today. Peace and love.
