Saturdays our cool...

Sleeping in late is a rare luxury I really enjoy. Margaret came to wake me up around 9:30 this morning. She thought I was already up since she heard footsteps and some 'walking around upstairs' just moments earlier. When I told her I just woke up, we were both creeped out a bit. However, I've become pretty used to the noises and opening/closing doors over the last few years. I guess the ghosts still share room and board with us. Except they havent paid up in quite a while - slacker stiffs! Once this week, I found my cell phone on the floor under the bed. I had placed it on a table several feet away just mins. earlier! Someone told me cell phones scare away ghosts... hmmm.. my freaky invisible roommates just seem to take mine when I'm not looking. Prolly calling Transylvania during peak hours I'd bet.

I'm Not an Ecoterrorist... Mmmkay?

I had several people email me about a story of a certain 'David Burrows' setting fire to the campus of Brigham Young University. The 'other' Burrows was part of the 'Animal Liberation Front' or ALF as known to those cute terrier-huggers with Camelpaks full of gasoline. Anyhow, it's funny how bad press (about someone I only happen to share a name with) gets more attention than my own press about the political conventions. I guess that's what you get when a nation spends too much time watching "COPS" and "Reno 911". I'm off to work on getting some more politically candid interviews in Dallas. Wish me luck and if you have a bic lighter and hold a grudge, stay away from those research labs...

Terrorists Erroding the good name of ALF...

the Democratic Convention & Sundance...

What do those two have in common you ask? Well I got to have a blast at both of them back to back last week. Dan P, Amy L, Mark 5 and and BiG Mark were the most fabulousus production team one could ask for in Boston ... and they put up with my bitcheyness & male-period behaviour .. Fuse Music ran around with us as we shot scenes from drunk fans at Fenway Park to a pissed-off BillO'Reilly at the Creative Coalition event downtown. Not much sleep but lots to do and getting around was tough - mostly by foot and sometimes cab. After interviewing what seemed to be a hundred people (IE: Jerry Springer, Billy Baldwin, Robert F. Kennedy and even Triumph the Insult Dog), I took off for the Sundance Producer's Conference where I met the creator of the now famous "this land is our land" parody. We chatted about doing some joint content on "America Speaks Out" and smoozed with 90 other filmmakers from all parts of the world creating all types of films. My favorite script? a guy from India with a comedy titled "When Harry Tries to Marry". It's about a traditional Indian college guy that wishes for an arranged marriage but his hippie parents from NYC just want him to find a girlfriend. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" meets 'American Pie' with an Indian twist.

Almost 1/2 way done filming with no arrests to date! :D
