Just when you think you've got life down...
Something will come along to screw with that idea. This week has been a tough one. Margaret basically lost her job of 12 years. I'm furious since she had no warning and had successfully grown her portion of a very large business 11 out of the 12 years - only to have it all
taken away in a 10 min. meeting. Ah ...but thank G-d for
karma right? Everyone gets their
due. Ok, on to good news. On the
Perfect Attendance program, the
P Diddy camp has expressed interest in our idea to increase attendance for inner-city schools in NYC! He's been approached to be the spokes-person for the NY roll out next year. :D ok, That's it for now... but remember, you only get out of life what you put into it and also how you treat other people...
"does this plaid make me look phat?"
Remembering Reagan...
Even though its been over 10 years since we've even heard from the
Gipper, and we all knew he suffered too long from
Alzheimer's, Reagan's death still caught me by surprise. He was the reason I switched parties (and before I was even old enough to vote). He was a national symbol of inspiration. Ron added leadership, flair and optimism the country desperately needed at that time. Perhaps Iran-Contra, 'Reaganomics' and a few other events darken his shining memory, but even a decade later,
Jesus Jones' one-hit-wonder-hit celebrated Reagan's victory
over the Berlin wall. That one triumph along with his unstoppable passion for the American spirit may well be all that's needed to remember.
So Right Here, Right Now... here's to one of the U.S.'s best President's. :)
I don't fight the tide...
One thing I've learned over the years, if there is a
technology trend,
fashion shift,
music revolution... you don't fight it just because you don't like it - just because you want to hang onto the 'old school' stuff - you
learn to embrace it. We as humans don't really love change all that much. However, we need to not only begin loving positive change(s), but find out how we can jump ahead of that changing curve so as to
benefit from it... if not -
we're toast.
Case in point -
HD vs.
35mm: I'm amazed at how many people in the entertainment industry fight the idea that digital is the way to go. It not only saves money and time, it increases your post-options and distribution channels. So think about it, if we all fought change, we'd still be watching broadcast channels only and listening to Coldplay on
8-track.
a long, long time ago, in a land far, far away from MP3s ..
